Leeds Student Radio (LSR) is a student-led media platform. As a student media group, LSR provides students with the tools to learn journalistic practices as they go.
Leeds University Union (LUU) is not liable for opinions or views expressed in our broadcasts, podcasts, or written articles, which are also not necessarily reflective of LSR or LUU as whole organisations. Please do not take opinions expressed by our presenters or contributors as fact, and always use external, reputable media sources to supplement discussions of current affairs on LSR.
2. Privacy & Data Handling
We believe in a private, open web. We have designed the LSR website to be as non-intrusive as possible.
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not require account registration, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers through this website.
- Live Listener Count & Chat: To provide our live services, we generate a unique, anonymous ID that is stored temporarily in your browser session. This is used solely to provide an accurate listener count and to allow you to participate in the live chat anonymously. This data is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Analytics: We use Umami Analytics to understand our traffic. Unlike traditional trackers, Umami is a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant tool that does not use cookies and does not collect any personal identifiable information (PII). You can view the Umami Privacy Policy here.
3. Intellectual Property & Terms of Use
All content on this website is the property of Leeds Student Radio unless otherwise stated.
- Branding: The LSR logo and brand identity are protected. Use of our logo for external promotion or commercial purposes without written consent is prohibited.
- Media & Photography: All imagery, photography, and graphics are owned by LSR or our student contributors. We reserve the right to request the immediate removal of any LSR-owned imagery used without our express permission.
- Website:Design and layout of thisislsr.com are the intellectual property of LSR.
- Live Stream & Audio: The audio broadcast, including live shows and podcasts, is for personal, non-commercial listening only. Recording, re-broadcasting, or redistributing our audio without attribution and permission is a breach of these terms.

Our website may contain links to external sites (e.g. Social media or news sources). LSR and LUU are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external platforms.
5. Moderation & Reporting Content
As a learning environment, we strive for high standards. We reserve the right to moderate the live chat, delete messages, or block anonymous IDs if users violate LUU's code of conduct or post offensive, defamatory, or spam content.

LSR Live Chat - House Rules
We love hearing from our listeners during the shows. To keep this a fun, safe, and welcoming space for everyone, please follow our quick house rules:
- Be Respectful: Treat presenters, guests, and fellow listeners with kindness. Hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and violates LUU policy.
- Keep it Clean: Avoid overly explicit language. We are an inclusive campus station, so let's keep the chat friendly for everyone.
- No Spam or Self-Promo: Please don't flood the chat with repetitive messages, external links, or self-promotion unless the presenter explicitly asks for them!
- Listen to the Mods: LSR committee members and presenters actively moderate this chat. We reserve the right to delete messages or block users who ignore these guidelines.
